Steroid Injection
Steroid injections are used in dermatology to treat certain conditions that result in excessive inflammation and/or scar formation. The type of steroid injected is an anti-inflammatory steroid such as Kenalog (triamcinolone). Kenalog injections may be used for the following conditions:
- Keloids
- Hypertrophic (thick) scars
- Inflammatory acne nodules
- Inflamed epidermoid cysts
- Excessive tissue swelling
